Next week is Mental Health Awareness week, with the focus on loneliness.
Here's a great article about how we can improve things for ourselves and each other after Covid, I think it's fair to say Covid and the issues it has caused have had a negative affect on everyone.
I would also recommend looking up "learned helplessness", behavioural economics really does seem to have a lot of answers ❤️ #loneliness#mentalhealthawareness#knowledgeispower#behaviouraleconomics

I feel sorry for people in retail and service as it will mean more unsociable shift work, but it's still one day a week less!
Maybe we should go back to everywhere being closed on a Sunday
I was doing some online tests at home when I heard a loud knocking on my door ... I popped my head out of the window and the old lady of the couple next door said she needed a hand really quickly, the toilet had burst a pipe and all the water was coming through the ceiling!

I rushed round and it looked like an indoor waterfall, I couldn't believe how much water was coming through the ceiling into the kitchen, and her partner had fallen tring to turn the water off and hurt his ribs and hand. We both helped him to his feet, then I crawled under the kitchen cupboard to turn the stop-tap off ... it wouldn't close fully, so I nipped hom for some pliers which did the trick
Fortunately the water didn't do any damage, and the old guy only has a bit of bruising
At Christmas I kept noticing my postman (who's brilliant) was pretty quiet, and I always try to chat, so as it was Christmas and he does such a brilliant job (especially during lockdown) one day when he had a parcel for me I gave him a £20 tip for Christmas he was really made up with it, and we chat every time he has a parcel for me now
a few months ago an elderley neighbour from down the road commented on how much she liked one of the plants in my front garden (Lychnis Coronaria). I found a small seedling and grew it on, and today I spotted her walking past with her dogs. I called out of the window to say "I have a present for you" and she came down to see, she was really pleased with the present and couldn't stop smiling (picture is the parent plant)
